How do I manage a POS hardware rollout across 200+ locations without disrupting store operations?

At that scale, it usually comes down to how much you can control before anything hits the store. The biggest issues tend to be pretty consistent…stores not ready, hardware not fully configured, or not having enough support lined up once everything goes live.

Most of the work happens upstream. Hardware needs to be staged and tested ahead of time, store readiness has to be confirmed, and installation has to be coordinated so technicians aren’t showing up to incomplete environments. If any of those pieces slip, it slows everything down.

At IW Technologies, the focus is on reducing those variables early. Hardware is fully staged and tested in the Elgin facility before it ships, store readiness is checked in advance, and deployments are coordinated through a network of more than 1,850 technicians. Support is also in place from day one, so stores aren’t left figuring things out after install.

Because it’s handled as one connected process from sourcing through deployment and early support, there’s less consistency between vendors and fewer gaps where things can fall through.

That approach has been used across large rollouts in grocery, QSR, and retail, including 1,000+ rapid deployments completed in under eight weeks. At that point, consistency matters more than anything if each store goes the same way, the rollout tends to stay on track.
