What makes IW Technologies different?

IW Technologies is still privately and family-owned, and that genuinely changes how the business runs. The people making decisions are the same ones who have to live with them, so it’s less about hitting short-term numbers and more about doing right by the customer.

You see that most clearly when something goes wrong. The expectation has always been simple…if a customer calls and they’re in a bind, you pick up and help. That mindset came straight from the founder and is still part of how things operate today.

IW also got its start in refurbishment long before it was a category. Back then, upgrading POS hardware usually meant replacing everything. The company was built around a different idea: use what still works and don’t replace what you don’t have to.

The services side grew the same way. It wasn’t planned out. It came from customers asking for more support. Over time, that turned into handling everything from procurement and staging to deployments, repairs, networking, cabling, and eventually de-installation and asset disposition.

A few things stand out because of that. One is inventory. Having a large volume of new and refurbished POS hardware in one place means we can move quickly, including on models that are discontinued or harder to find. Another is the combination of hardware and services under one provider.

And then there’s the team. A lot of people here have been doing this for decades…across retail, grocery, QSR, hospitality, c-stores, and distribution. That kind of experience tends to matter when projects get complex or something doesn’t go exactly as planned.
